Patrick Breiner is a saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and educator in Pittsburgh, PA. He is widelysoughtafter as a unique and energetic instrumentalist and improvisor.
Patrick operates SuldeRecordsand leads several projects including Vartan Mamigonian (solo saxophone) and Double Double (free jazz quartet featuring 2 bassists). Other collaborations include: Battle Trance (New Amsterdam / NNA Tapes), VAX (self-released collaborative new/improvised musical performance trio), Bing & Ruth (RVNG Intl. and 4AD, 2006-2015), and Ballett im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, Germany with VAX (2016) and with Sons Of Daughters (2012).
In addition to his musical undertakings Patrick is a sometimes theater performer and maker of visual art.

Patrick teaches in a variety of settings: - Private Lessons. All skill levels. (saxophone, clarinet, composition, improvisation) - Ensembles. All sizes and skill levels. (jazz, experimental, new music) - Music Theory. All levels including unique approaches to harmony. - Composition. All levels including advanced composition concepts for modern improvisors and composers. - Masterclasses in any / all of the above fields.
Patrick's students include current and former students at University of Pittsburgh and University of North Texas. His middle school and high school students have gone on to study at New England Conservatory, McGill University, New School University, Northwestern University (Bienen School of Music), Rhode Island School of Design, DePaul University, University of Wisconsin Madison, and Earlham College to name a few. They are pursuing careers in a wide variety of fields including music, visual art, theology, and education.
